Dear Adventist Youth Ministries Museum readers,
It doesn’t seem possible that we are already two months into 2022. I am so thankful for the many stories that have been written over the past years for the AYMM Newsletter. All I can say is “praise the Lord!”
Youth Ministries began with a story of two friends who wanted to lead their non-Christian friends to Jesus, since then, the stories haven’t stopped. From conversions around campfires to youth initiatives that have the potential to change the world—there’s so many stories! We hear them at camp outs, from friends who met Jesus at a Youth ministries event, from the Youth Pastor whose stories spark inspiration in us all—my point? Youth love stories, we all love stories. Stories connect us. When we read a story, we connect with the author, with the humanity of the character, with the emotions felt. Stories mean so much to us, and every story needs to be shared. Your story needs to be shared.
At this time, we wanted to extend the invitation to others to write stories for this newsletter. This includes you, dear reader, or any individual who would like to share an experience from a youth ministry, such as Pathfinders, Adventurers, or any Youth ministry. Your story may be of your involvement in one of these ministries or of one of your friends or a young person, who has been led to the Lord, or who the Lord has used to honor Him.
We would appreciate your help in writing a 500 – 1,000 word article for our “Adventist Youth Ministries Museum—A Discovery and Learning Center” newsletter. We would also like to encourage you to share your story with us, even if you do not want to write it yourself. Finally, if you would like to be a volunteer writer for the AYMM newsletter, please let us know.
Here are a few suggestions for your stories:
- How has this ministry (any of the three above) impacted your life?
- What has this ministry done to change your life?
- How have these ministries been a blessing to you or someone under your leadership/ministry?
- An outstanding story of an event/activity (club meeting, camp out, fair camporee, family camp out, family blessings service, youth rally/congress, Pathfinder Bible Experience, Investiture, etc.) could all be an inspirational story for a reader, depending on your own personal experience—we want to hear it!
- You could also share a story on an animal, such as birds, waterfowl, farm animals, wild animals…. I’m sure you get the idea!
- Your story could also be based on an honor or award—what made this moment so special to you, why was this honor so unique?
- Short stories are best, but if you have a story that is too long, we understand and are willing to work with you. Your story can be divided into more than one part if it is too long!
Please remember, if you know of someone who can meet the needs of the AYMM newsletter, please share this information with them. We are always looking for stories!
Look forward to hearing from you soon.
God bless,
