Perspective by Terry Dodge, President
Treasured items are always special and enjoyed. Do you remember any items you have that fall into a special keep sakes list? It has been said that I am a collector of items but we call those special treasures: rocks, fossils, coins, pins and the list could go on. It is so much fun looking for all of those items that you continue to keep looking.
The Adventist Youth Ministries Museum has been given many of those specials items that individuals have collected over the years dealing with the history of youth ministries or part of their life or a friend’s life. Each item has a story behind it if the items could only talk.
We are looking forward to seeing those items (75 pallets of donated treasures) beginning June 28 to July 21, 2017, as we carefully take each item out of its box: inventory, catalog and photograph it, as a permanent record, before returning it to its safe place. This permanent record will be the source that will be used by those who will be designing the AYM Museum displays to tell the story of the Seventh-day Adventist Church as seen through the eyes of youth/Pathfinders. It was youth and young adults who under the guidance of the Jesus and the Holy Spirit that developed what we love and appreciate so much about this church. Come and help make this happen.
We are looking for 25 – 30 volunteers to help with this most important task. If you are able to help during any days from June 28 to July 21, 2017 at Great Lake Adventist Academy, Cedar Lake, Michigan we need your help. For details about lodging and/or RV space and hook-up, please contact Terry Dodge at 517-331-1346 or at aymmuseum.org
